Mayor says Moscow industry returns to pre-crisis level after virus
MOSCOW, Sep 4 (PRIME) -- Moscow's industry has reached the pre-crisis output levels, including construction, which is very close to the pre-crisis level, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
"Industry has reached the pre-crisis level, construction has reached a level comparable with the one before the crisis. Commissioning of housing is a little lower but investment, the construction industry has reached the level," Sobyanin said.
The mayor said that construction sagged in Moscow a little more than in the country on average but a decision to give cut-rate mortgage has spurred investment in the sector.
He said that retail and services have reached the pre-crisis level in general, adding that recovery is going on faster than expected. The main problems of the Moscow retail will be solved until the end of the year.
Sobyanin said separately that Moscow will continue development of transport infrastructure, including with the Moscow Region.
